Thread gauges are suitable for Whitworth threads, which have a thread profile with a 55-degree angle. They are not suitable for use with Pipe Thread types.
Whitworth threads follow the Whitworth thread standardization, and the Whitworth standard is divided into 3 levels: Class 2, Class 3, and Class 4.
